 SMART AIS® is developed for boaters and skippers who are looking for easy navigation, using their favourite navigation or charting app with AIS overlay.

It addresses the needs of so many boaters who want a simple, portable, plug & play AIS solution, which offers the ability to directly connect with their smart phones, tablets and laptops.

SMART AIS® appeals to charter skippers, professional mariners (like delivery skippers and pilots), as well as boat owners who want to avoid the hassle and cost of installing a traditional transceiver.

Smart AIS® delivers the same core functionalities as existing fixed AIS solutions. 

Smart AIS® comes with a reliable dual channel AIS receiver. It also packs a full AIS class B transmitter, which sends your ship’s ID, position, course, speed and other ship data to surrounding vessels. The transmitter supports both CSTDMA and SOTDMA.

For increased accurate positioning we have upgraded the device from GPS to multiband GNSS.

With ultimate ease of use and reliability in mind, we fully integrated both a powerful GPS antenna, as well as an onmidirectional VHF antenna. So no installation hassle.

Activate Smart AIS® and you will be visible to surrounding AIS vessels and shore stations. You will also show up on real- time online ship tracking maps, such as MarineTraffic, Vessel Finder and MyShipTracking.

By connecting your smartphone, tablet or laptop to the WiFi, you can project all surrounding AIS ships on your navigation app.

Smart AIS® is fully compatible with most popular navigation apps, including Navionics, Savvy Navvy, C-MAP, NavLINK, AquaMap, Imray and SailGrib.

Smart AIS® incorporates a powerful battery pack. This can keep Smart AIS® operational for up to 72 hours (3 days).

For longer passages Smart AIS® can be powered from any standard USB power source. This can include any (low cost) third party battery pack, power bank, a USB-to-PC connection, regular 12V USB adaptors or a cigarette lighter adaptor.

You can configure Smart AIS® through its own simple web interface: just open your web browser, enter the device’s IP address and you can easily configure the vessel details (MMSI number, Boat name, etc.), network name, password in two easy steps.
